ODE TO MY VILLAGE.
ODE TO MY VILLAGE.
A F EKBAL.
Don't let my village
Be an advanced city,
Let stay as it is
Don't snatch its identity.
Years have passed
When came out
In search of livelihood,
Still my heart is bonded with
My charming villagehood !
Here, in this wide municipality
In this petty house;
Of course getting the bread
But staying alike the mouse !
During this journey of life
Don't know somewhere have lost
My widened rural heart
May be for the earnest dream-cost !
What I thought forwarding
Feel now otherwise stepdown,
Have lost the uninterrupted
Freeness, find myself locked down!
Here haven't a house
Just having a house number,
Where finite all your feelings
Your vigilance your slumber !
Here in town
Neither I am recognized and known,
Having all the enlightened neighbors
But none is my own !
Recollect all my old people
In my age-old village native,
Hadn't the ornamental employment
Yet all are all-round active !
In my village mornings do not mourn
Parallel always is the sun-beam ,
Not alike the metros
Where indebted it seem !
Storytelling afternoons are so pity
Everyone expresses himself there,
Parents are not burden in village
Know the children, how to take care !
Calling animals and children
Easily remove the heat of the village,
Here in cities
All are being boiled of in the cage !
Bubblement of small river
Indicate the season- summer or rain,
Cuckoos bring in village domain
The fluorescent spring .
I know my village is just a village-
Don't make it the city you,
Do not take away it's identity
So much passions there still due !
At home I am in a relationship
I am everyone's own, along we dine,
Someone's son, someone's brother
Uncle too- all are mine.
And I'm just something here in the burg
Dweller of a numbered compartment,
Dear so long paying the taxes
And depositing the imposed rent !
